Al Attar Mosque
Badr Eddine Al Attar, a wealthy resident of Tripoli, built this mosque in 1334, after the Mamluk conquest of the city. It occupies the site of a ruined Crusader church.
The mosque is particularly admired for its eastern and western entrances. Its finely decorated square minaret ranks among the most elaborate surviving Mamluk minarets in Tripoli, complementing the beauty of the building as a whole.
Restoration work was underway at the mosque in 2019.
