Al Nouriya Madrassa
Al Nouriya dates to the fourteenth-century Mamluk period. No surviving historical inscription identifies its founder.
One interpretation attributes the school to the wealthy Prince Nur Eddine, who is also associated with Al Nouri Hammam directly opposite. This attribution remains uncertain, but the relationship between the two buildings is part of the madrassa’s historical setting.
Inside, an especially fine marble mihrab is the school’s outstanding architectural feature.
