Al Mashhad Madrassa
Al Mashhad is a Mamluk building whose founder is unknown. Its name refers to the mausoleum it contains. The madrassa stands in the Al Nouri district, to the right of the Great Mansouri Mosque’s main entrance.
The entrance is distinguished by geometric decoration, mosaic work and white and green marble. Muqarnas carving enriches the portal, reflecting the architectural treatment found on many of Tripoli’s Mamluk schools and mosques.
