Founded in Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1881 by Mahmoud Hallab, Hallab 1881 has grown from a family business into one of Lebanon’s most celebrated names in Oriental sweets. For more than four generations, the Hallab family has carried forward a tradition built on craftsmanship, quality, and the warm hospitality for which Tripoli is known.
A major chapter in this legacy was shaped by Hajj Abdul Rahman Hallab, whose commitment to excellence was captured in his motto: **“Do it perfectly, or don’t do it at all.”** This philosophy helped establish Hallab 1881 as a trusted destination for authentic Lebanese and Middle Eastern delicacies.
Today, the fourth generation continues the family tradition, combining time-honored recipes with modern production and an expanding presence in Lebanon and across the region. Its signature creations include **Baklava, Maamoul, Knefe**, and a wide selection of traditional sweets that have become part of celebrations, holidays, and everyday gatherings.
With its roots firmly planted in Tripoli, Hallab 1881 represents more than a century of local culinary heritage, a story of family, tradition, generosity, and flavors passed down from one generation to the next.
